Rules for Ride of the Month/Year – 2008

-Must be a current, dues paying member of the club to be eligible for ROM (both for voting, and nomination) For the normal Ride Of the Month contest, you must own an LH Model Chrylser Product.

-Users must have pictures on Fotki (either placed there by the individual or by ROM Admin) Upon request, winners MUST submit High Resolution pictures for the next year calendar 30-60 days after they win. However, it is preferred that the original pictures for the nomination process be High Resolution images (300dpi minimum, 3.0 megapixel)

-Members (currently paid, and active) can submit up to 2 nominations per month to the Nomination Committee via email at 300MOMNOM@300mclub.org. We will request these not prior to 10 days before the contest, and not after 5 days prior to the commencement of the contest. The nomination process will last 5 days. Once the nominations are received, the committee will determine the 4 nominees for the month based on the number of nominations received. The top four vote getters will be elected to be in the contest for that month. In a tie situation, the Club President will cast the deciding vote. Once the 4 nominees are determined, they will be contacted to compose their nomination speech. This will occur roughly 24-48 hours prior to the contest. This is the nominees chance to sell themselves to the voting public. Feel free to include any descriptions, web sites, listing awards, etc. Anything the nominee feels the voting public should know. Please limit this to information about the car itself.

-If there is a specific picture that the nominee wants to be used for the nomination thread, please let the ROM Admin know (Tom Romans aka shadowvox6). If it needs to be uploaded to Fotki, the ROM Admin will upload the picture. If any updates to the nominee’s Fotki page needs to be done, this can also be done at this time. Please notify the ROM Admin.

-The contest will open by a thread created by the ROM Admin. This will include the 4 nominees (picture, member’s name & number, username, location, and car information) The contest will run for 10 days from the creation of the thread, and will end at 2100 (9:00pm) EST/EDT on the 10th day. The voting poll will be open for the same amount of time. Once this thread is open, the nominees only will post their acceptance composition in that thread. The only posts in that thread will be from the ROM Admin, and the nominees.

-At the conclusion of the 10 day voting period, the nominee with the most votes will become winner for that month. At that time, the winner will be pulled from the eligible contestants for a minimum of 12 months. The other nominees will be placed back in the pool of eligible contestants and can be selected again immediately (although typically, a minimum of a month will elapse before they would be considered again.)

-In cases of a tie, a 3 member panel will be convened to determine the winner. This panel will consist of the ROM Admin, Club President, and one other Board Member. Within 72 hours of the end of the contest, the tie breaker will be determined, and the winner be announced.

-For winning the contest, the winner will have their car’s photo on the corresponding month of the following year’s 300M Enthusiasts Club Wall Calendar. Also, the winner will be highlighted on the club’s web page. Also, the other winners of the year will be highlighted on the winners page on our website.

-The 300M of the Year winner will be determined from the 12 monthly winners. In January of the following year, a contest thread will be setup comprised of the monthly winners from the previous year. This contest will be allowed to run for 15 days. The contest will end at 2100 (9:00pm EDT/EST) of the 15th day. The ROY (Ride of the Year) nominees will be notified a minimum of 72 hours prior to the beginning of the contest. This will allow time to compose an appropriate nomination speech for this honor. This should include any updates to the car since the nominee won their respective contest. The same picture that was used in their respective winning contest will be used, but you can provide a better picture if you choose to.

-In cases of a tie for ROY, run off contest will be setup. This will be a 5 day contest between the nominees that are involved in the tie. No additional information will be required from the nominees. The contest will conclude at 2100 (9:00pm) EDT/EST on the 5th day. Whoever has the most votes in the runoff will be declared ROY. In the event of a tie, we will revert to the 3 member panel rule mentioned for the MOM tie breaker scenario.

-The winner of the ROY will get a trophy/plaque from the club, and possibly other prizes. Also, the winner will be highlighted on our club’s webpage, and on the page of winners for that year.

A Few Notes…

-The Ride of the Month is not meant to be a popularity contest per se. It is a chance to highlight a member for having put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into having a nice ride. With that being said, you cannot determine what the voting public will do. They will vote their conscious, and their heart. I like to think that the contest is 75% about the car, and 25% about the owner. Please keep this in mind if you are nominated, and don’t win for that particular month. It isn’t always about who has the most modifications, or has done the most. It is all about what the voting public feels.

-Please don’t have any hard feelings about not winning. I personally lost 5 times when I owned my 99. At the time, I was a little hurt by this, but now (being on this end) I consider it an honor to have been nominated 5 times. Please keep this in mind as well.

-If you have any questions or need assistance with getting your pictures up on Fotki, please contact me at:

Shadowvox6@cinci.rr.com

I will assist you with what I can. However, I cannot answer questions about your potential nomination. I must remain neutral in the administering of the contest. I can however answer question about the contest itself. Please feel free to search the forums for information, and look at the contests that have been run in the past. These will prove to be very valuable for you to see what others have done.

Good luck!!!
