Still deciding on a name... LOL... It'll come to me. I appreciate the suggestions. Robert, I do like the one you suggested. I was thinking something meaning more sapphire or along those lines.

Saturday, I finally had time to Install my Intake Adapter that allows a cone filter install. It was 3-D printed and works perfect. I also now have a picture of the engine cover. I want to have a sticker for the dark colored shape in the middle of the red portion. Maybe Honda? or something... Or, if I ever pick a name.... I need to clean up the engine bay very soon. But, the intake sounds awesome! I like that I can hear it spool up and the blow off is much louder which is what I wanted. I am very happy.
I may look into a light drop for the car. maybe 1-1.5 Inch drop. Also, I am exploring exhaust options. I really want to do something with it. We will see. I can't do anything yet. Probably will have to wait till spring at this point.

As much as I like to care for my car myself, I bit the bullet. With the car still being under factory warranty, I like to have more than oil changes on record at the dealership. Plus my time has been kind of limited with school. I went to the Honda and had the following done to the car:

Oil and Filter change
Transmission (CVT) service
Fuel Injection Cleaning service (these cars are Direct Injection engines, I'm told the injectors aren't washed like port injection. I felt it had value
4 Wheel Alignment (Wanted done as tires are fairly new.
Multi-point Inspection

I received a few compliments on the car being so nice. It feels good when commented about a nice and clean car.

I have a really hard time paying for things I can do at home. But I will pay for the things I cannot easily do or don't have the tools (alignment, fuel injection service). Plus with the warranty, It is very nice to have some service history to go along with the car should I have a problem. They will have a lot harder time trying to deny work if I have done service to the car. With that said, Honda is pretty good about covering problems and the repairs if it is a widespread problem.

The name is growing on me. I am still not 100 % I really like it but it fits the car well. And again, It is growing on me.

Were this a port-injection car like the Ms (and nearly everything from the 80s until the last 10 years) I would tell you the fuel injection service is money wasted.

BUT, if it's any form of Direct Injection, you have two options. One is pay the dealer to do their cleaning service. The other is to make 'er sing after every fillup, then do a cleaning service less often.

Since the injectors are no longer in the intake port, you don't have atomized fuel flowing over the intake valves and cleaning them. If you're my in-laws, then you're doing the engine great harm by babying it (I have another term for it, but my spouse yelled at me for saying it because it's not family friendly...) and never seeing north of 2500 RPM. In each of our cars I always exit the Costco fuel center tires squealing, engine redlining, making it sing to help clean the valves. Does it work? I dunno, but I have fun doing it. When I had the LIM off in 2015 I did see some deposits in the intake ports of both heads and I took the time to clean them all out and seafoamed it when it was all back together (car was owned previously by someone else the first 7 years/62,224 miles of its life, who knows how they drove it). My mother in law hates when I drive because my thought is always "I paid for the whole tachometer, I'm using the whole tachometer". Apparently she looks straight ahead and grips whatever she can when I drive... can't wait to have her in the backseat of the Hemi Durango when I drive us somewhere.

Direct Injection cars don't have this benefit of fuel constantly washing the valves, so occasional high RPM action helps heat them up and cook the deposits. Does it work? Again I have no idea, but it's what I've heard more than a few times helps a lot. I would still do a chemical cleaning every few years.

Robert, I agree 100%. Speaking with the advisor, whom is good friends with a few of my buddies, I feel like I can kind of trust him. Now, I know his job is also to sell stuff so I take it with a grain of salt too. However, these engines are definitely direct Injection. I asked if he does his personal car, and he said every 30k miles he does. (They recommend every 15k) I think I drive it "spirited" enough.... LOL. I run just about to redline when manually "shifting" the car. It shouldn't need it every 15k miles. I definitely feel as its not wasted money though, so I feel good about that one.

Also, heck yea I paid for the WHOLE tach, I USE it!

Got the car all cleaned up, I washed it Saturday but, I did a quick wax tonight with Klean Society gloss and the car looks great. I sprayed on some tire shine and swept the inside and it feels just right with the world. LOL.

I haven't updated lately. Its been busy at the Waikel Household. Basketball for my son, and family stuff have taken up quite a bit of time.
A few months ago, the owner of Fort Wayne Metals sold off 35% of the company. He calls it an insurance policy. Anyways, about 2 weeks ago, he gave all the employees a huge "thank you". He gave a bonus to all of us. If you have more time, you got a bigger bonus. I've been there for 13 years and change. Holy cow! It was nice to build our savings account back up!

anyways, I update to say this:

I have decided to lower the Accord with a small portion of my bonus money. I still need to raise some money to help pay for the proper parts needed to do the job correctly. I am excited to do this and I think the car will look great.

also, this bonus gave us an opportunity to update the wife's car. We traded in her 2016 Honda CR-V and bought a 2019 Honda Passport. We are very happy with the new ride. It has tons of room yet no 3rd row, and I'm okay with that! We are thrilled with the possibilities. I have some stuff that I need to sell to raise the other portion of the needed funds. So, be on the look out! I still have bumper covers, sway bars, tire/wheels, headlights and more to get rid of. I hope to inventory and picture everything and post it up soon.

Awesome news!! Great upgrades for the family...I always loved the older style Passport and wanted one for so long. When they stopped selling it, I was so sad. It's great to see it back. I hope the family enjoys it. Sounds like a great vehicle to drive to SC for a family vacation if you ask me!!!!!

I haven't done much other than trying to keep it clean. I did drive it to S.C. to see some peeps. It was a good trip.


However, I did hit 40k miles 2 days ago... I've put over 27k of those miles on it. Its been a good car and a lot of fun. I hope to add to that fun when I order the coil overs... SOON I hope!!!

I saw a Still Night Pearl Accord on the highway the other day while headed out of Boston. The car looked bone stock, but was definitely on coilovers or lowering springs as it was very low.
It is such a awesome color, you can always see it among the sea of black, grey, silver and white cars.

you know, when I bought the car, I took a good liking to the color. I really wanted the white as I really like white cars, but I am so glad I got the blue. Still Night Pearl is such a beautiful car when cleaned up. I think it looks so much better than the rest of the color options out right now.

ok, I have not updated this in quite a while.... BOO!!!

So, july 1st I got hit by a flying tree limb while driving down the road... UGH!

Umm.... I had hoped to have pics but money has been slightly tight as we had a new fence built.
BUT.....

I bought Keith's old show car wheels. I need to replace 2 tires and mount them up! I hope to get the tires soon. I don't like them just stacked in the garage.

I had a 3-d printed intake adapter, well it got to be about 100 degrees outside temp, so when driving with the high temps it started to melt... I converted back to the stock intake after carlisle. I tried to make a new one but failed. I will do one more attempt.
I just picked up last night a 2.5" tube to start building a new intake. I think the 3" tube i used previously screwed with the mass air flow sensor. I think using the 2.5" tube will be the key. Plus I plan to sand/paint it so it shouldn't look thrown together...

I will be contacting a guy that thinks he can fix the fender tomorrow. Ive had several look at it and "no one wants to touch it"
this guys says "good thing my name is no one!"
I hope for good news on this as I don't really want to cut into the factory paint.

that is all for now.... Oh, I am working on gathering the parts/info on installing my old sub into the trunk... I need a little bump...

Wow, I never noticed the damage at Carlisle. Sucks that it happened, but I'm surprised "no one wants to touch it", unless it's a case where everyone so far has said PDR won't work? I get not wanting to touch the factory paint. As amazing as my car looks now with the full respray, I get nervous driving it with all the careless people that cut me off. To the point where I refuse to drive it during the Woodward Dream Cruise, because of the showboating morons gleefully doing burnouts or rolling coal all day long with no care at all for anyone behind them or next to them.

But I digress... I didn't realize the Accord shared a bolt pattern with the LHs. It'll be interesting to see them mounted.

The 3-D print melting issue was what we were afraid of for the bracket we wanted to do. Ugh!

I met with the local "Dent Terminator" rep yesterday. He is confident that he can repair the fender. It does come at a hefty cost though. He quoted 450-500 bucks. I do want the car fixed up. Its going to hurt, but I'll get it fixed. I just have to get the cash together.

The factory wheels on the Accord are 5 on 114.3mm just like the LH line. Its a very common bolt pattern. The Accord wheels are factory +50 offset. I believe these will sit almost perfectly flush. Its going to be close.

On the sub/amp, I have the old wiring from the Green car that I pulled. Plus the line out converter. I will need a way to hook the positive cable to the battery. I would like to see if there is a way to keep the factory terminal, we will see. I am also hoping to pull the center console cubby out to install the bass control knob into it and make it look factory-ish.

Little update....
I sold the special wheels and tires to a buddy of mine, I took that money and ordered 2 replacement tires for the new wheels.

also, with the birthday money I got, I ordered some red spiked lug nuts for the new wheels as well as a blue anodized ball shifter knob. Its really slick. You have to push the ball down to defeat the shift lock solenoid. but should look awesome installed.

The tires should be here tomorrow. I hope to update very soon with pictures of the tires/wheels on the car and the shifter knob on.
