Coming to Ohio in November...
Our official last day of racing at Edgewater is on 11/18 from 12-5.
It is usually a pretty big party we grill out, and watch football on a TV...yes we have a portable generator setup...
It is the latest that a track is open here in the midwest. (that I am aware of), and it is a very good day for personal bests.
I would be available for assistance, and help if needed.
This is always a good time.
Here is a link to the track...

http://www.edgewaterrace.com/

I hope that we can have a small turnout to the track.
Hopefully by posting it now, people could make plans to attend.
Afterwards, we can head back to my place for a party, or what not.
I live within 10 minues of the track.

Anyone interested that wants to race could come into town a day or so early we could get their car ready for racing...

There are many other attractions in the Greater Cincinnati Area...
Like...
Kings Island
The Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Zoo
THe Air Force Museum (50 miles away, and free)
Plus many more....

Anyone interested, lemme know.

Cinci isn't that far, and it's been over ten years since I've been there. Is Kings Island open in November at all? Need to wear a sweater!

Their last "official" date is 10/29.
However, last year, they brought back Winterfest....
it isn't on their schedule yet, however....it might be closer to fall....

On a side note, the owners of Cedar Point recently completed the purchase of Paramount's amusement parks. Cedar Point quite arguably has the baddest (CENSORED) roller coasters on the face of the Earth!!

Also, we have drawn some of the fastest W-Body cars in North America to this last big bang of the year.....We have 2 12 second Grand Prix for sure that will be racing!!!

Seeing if anyone is interested in doing/seeing some racing!!!

We are about three weeks away from this happening.
Who is interested in coming?
If there are enough people, I can arrange a hotel for the group.

I am starting a list...

Yes it is! They house the ONLY extant XB-70 Valkyrie on earth.

By the way I checked Edgewater's Schedule. You mean Sunday the 19th don't you?

Track runs roughly WSW. Must be rough near sunset this time of year. Sunset on the 18th is at an azimuth of 245 degrees.

8.5 hours 530 miles for me. Let me think on it.

Don,
We do the T&T day....
Which is on the Saturday...
That last weekend really doesn't matter too much...
We go for the fun, the racing....and the food.
We grill out at the track!!!

Someone usually brings a TV for the OSU & Michigan game.
It is a really good time.

I'd like to be there but I'll be camping/deer hunting in the Hoosier National Forest in southern Indiana that weekend. If the whole weekend looks like rain for camping you might see me at the track after all.

Tom,

Mapquest is telling me approximately 4.5 hours from Detroit. Can you confirm that for me? I am going to leave Friday morning and try to stay somewhere close to the track Friday night. I will then leave from the track and head up to Detroit. It will be a blast even if only a few of us come out. Also do you know of any CHEAP hotels in the area? Also is it $10.00 to watch and $15.00 to race on Saturday?

Almond!

If you are going we can Caravan if you want to. I was going to stay near the OH Indiana border near the track in a place called Harrison OH but I got a suite instead in Mason about 10 miles north of Cincy. You flying solo?

BTW Mapquest Gieringer OH if you want the track. From there choose aerial view to see the track.

Gieringer to Metro Detroit is about 4 hours 25 minutes. 268 miles

I have made it from Detroit to Cincinnati in 4 hours before.
It is $15.00 to race, $10.00 to watch.
There is a hotel right by my place called Imperial House...should be cheap.
If you want, I can check it out for you.
It is 3-5 min's from me, and 10 min's from the track.

That sounds great! We are planning on leaving in the morning on Friday. It's going to be me, my wife, my son, and my sister in law. I have to warn you though with two women in the car and my almost 2 year old I am sure they are going to want to stop every few hours. About what time to you plan on leaving?

Cool we should be good then. I am never overly excited to rush to see the in-laws anyways!!!! My wife's sister will also be coming with the family, she is attending the university of Maryland and wants to hop on the m bus to see her family for the holidays. I will search for the Imperial house, i I am unable to come up with anything I will let you know. I have to stress that I am on an extremely limited budget for this trip...we are staying in Detroit with family so that will help allot. Also, I was looking at the elevation of the track and even though its under 500 feet I firmly believe that your car would have done a 14.9X at sea level. I am excited about making some passes in the M, haven't done that since the spring!
