Would there be any interest in a mountain meet say in or near the mountains of Western NC? It would be equal distance for the VA, NC, SC, GA, and TN members. They have a fairly good size classic car show in Maggie Valley every year and it seems like it is held in the spring. If there is any interest I will find out the dates for sure. There is plenty of things to do up there as well. I could probably get a very good rate on a hotel up there considering I am originally from the mountains and know a lot of people in that area. There is also the Biltmore Estate. I can get a good rate on that as well because I know several people that help run the estate itself. It is up to everyone to decide if there is enough interest. Just thought I would throw an idea out! :D

Since both my parents were born and raised there I would be up for a trip. Would have to be next spring during the Rhododendron bloom though. I would travel down the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Biltmore Estate has a festival of flowers in the spring (April I think) and that is during that time.

I'd come down to Charlotte and head out to Chimney Rock and take a left for Lake Lure and then into Hendersonville and Asheville.

Then you would be going the LONG way.

The fastest way would take you through CT, NY, NJ, PA (right by Carlisle), MD, WV, VA, Tn and into NC.

That's on my way to Myrtle Beach. I was planning on going a little later but, you never know.

It looks like this is becoming a feasible idea....

If something good comes together, I may take a ride down.

I would say early June, but I'm not sure when that car show is, but if we want to pass the car show idea up, then that's fine with me. It's going to boil down to when is the best time for everyone. I am in the same boat as Vegas....give me about a months notice and I'll be there.

All right! :D

I LOVE the mountains (unless it's snowing)!

Anyone for white water rafting? I've done the Olympic Course - Tennessee to North Carolina, several times.

Anyone for mining? Gold, jem stones?

Fishing? Antiquing? Craft Shows?

Has anyone been to Murphy, NC Flea Mkt? How about Uncle Bill's?

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt and went home! Looking forward to going back!

Don't forget, bring lots of beer. They actually have dry counties up there! :cheers

Count me in unless I have divorce duties.... I could really use the break! :D

Lots of choices. Great Smokeys, Cherokee, Unto these Hills, Gatlinburg.

Could be great time!

Hey Sixftunder:

Great idea! Find out when, where the car show is and we'll go from there!
